Pray for Tullian Tchividjian this Weekend

When I started blogging a couple months ago, I made one unbreakable rule for myself: never post anything that Justin Taylor also posts. This isn't because I don't like JT. He's a great guy and his blog is second to none. The problem is almost everyone reads Between Two Worlds, so if I just steal his stuff, no one needs to read the inimitable DeYoung, Restless, and Reformed (and frankly, if I just posted his stuff, I would be quite imitable).

But I'm bending my rule just a bit because of a personal request. Tullian Tchividjian, as most of you probably know, is the pastor at New City Presbyterian Church in south Florida. His church is very, very close to merging with Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church where D. James Kennedy was the pastor for many years. Once the merger is complete, the two churches will be one church with Tullian as their pastor. This is an important decision for them, for Tullian, and actually for the broader evangelical church.

I've met Tullian before and exchange emails with him once in awhile. He's a good pastor and writer, and theologically solid. He asked some folks to blog and ask people to pray. So if you have a moment, pray for him as he preaches at Coral Ridge this weekend. Coral Ridge will then vote on whether to officially call Tullian as their pastor and merge with New City. This is a big deal, and I'm sure the process has not been easy. You can read the latest update from Tullian here.

Oh, and I did I mention that Billy Graham is Tullian's grandfather. Pretty cool.

As a former member of the Coral Ridge session and a friend of Tullian, I appreciate your call to prayer.

God is at work, so that means that our adversary is also.

Pray that God would be obvious glorified to the on-lookers and participants.
